IIIE works with IT vendors that use value assessment tools (Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and ROI) as a competitive sales differentiator and marketing tool. All major and most small and medium IT vendors have a TCO story and many have developed models that demonstrate the cost difference between their solution and the competition. The competition may be another vendor’s solution or the status quo – i.e., no decision.

A IIIE Value certification is an objective, third party validation of the accuracy of your value proposition. This will improve the credibility of your value proposition, which has been shown to reduce sales cycles and pull deals across the finish line.
 
IIIE offers an independent audit and certification of the baseline models used to perform these analyses, the specific analyses themselves and the follow-up to determine actual cost/benefits realization.

Most buyers require a “business case” for any substantive IT purchase. The business case is built around the TCO deltas of the solutions in play. These will often be expressed as an ROI or other recognized financial metric that differentiates the solutions. IT buyers often do not have the resources to create these business cases internally and defer to the vendors to provide them. This creates a credibility and defensibility gap* for the solution provider who is put in charge of the justification. Business case justification, (e.g. use of a “value model” to demonstrate the Return on Investment (ROI) of an IT investment) have been an obligatory exercise for large IT procurements for a number of years and has become mandatory for larger proposals (>$50K)  in most enterprises. IIIE Value√ certification provides much needed credibility to vendor driven business cases.
